The Onizuka Day of Exploration is one of the biggest annual scouting events in Hawaii. Pack 9 and our scouts had a lot of fun participating. We featured our Mars Rover Run activity, where participants had to navigate their rover across treacherous terrain, to get to the goal high atop a maintain. It was both challenging and fun for all. Mahalo to all who visited our booth.

Pack 9 scouts enjoy our Family Adventures! It’s whale season in Hawaii so we recently hiked up the Makapu’u lighthouse trail. On our hike we had a lot of fun and our scouts were able to spot whales breaching out in the ocean. Mission accomplished!

Moanalua Pack 9 had an epic Blue and Gold event this year! This year we celebrated the 116th anniversary of scouting by incorporating a blue and gold themed dessert contest that was a hit. Mahalo to our distinguished VIP guests @donnamercadokim14 @repshimizu @repcorychun who spoke to our scouts and participated as our contest judges. We capped the evening by presenting scouts in each den with their achievement awards. Congratulations Pack 9 scouts!

The Moanalua Pack 9 Pinewood Derby Race is one of our most exciting events each year. Parents and scouts work together to design their cars and compete on race night. There were so many great cars and creative designs.

Camping is a highlight for our scouts each year. We have fun activities lined up for each camping trip including crab hunting, outdoor activities, discovering new things, beach time, campfire skits, making s’mores, laughing, and having fun. With only a few months left in the school year, we will soon be gearing up for spring camp!

Merry Christmas from Moanalua Pack 9! Tonight our scouts hit the streets of our Salt Lake / Moanalua community to help “Light the Night” and wish everyone a happy holiday.
